Christine Cowheard was born in Germany, into a family that had accumulated generations of knowledge in plant-based curatives. That inheritance, an understanding of what plants can do for the body when they are respected and properly formulated, never left her.
More than thirty years ago, working as a practicing esthetician in South Florida, Christine set out to do something that skincare at the time insisted was impossible. She wanted to formulate products that were genuinely natural and genuinely effective, because she believed her clients deserved both. A Natural Difference was founded on that promise in 1989, and every formula we have made since has kept it.
Today we remain a woman owned, family owned and operated company. What began with one esthetician’s standards is still run by the same family. When the name on the bottle is your own, quality is personal.

The European Union restricts more than 1,400 ingredients from use in cosmetics and requires extensive safety assessments before products can be sold within member countries.
Our formulations are developed to meet these demanding European regulatory requirements. Each ingredient is evaluated for safety and quality, formulations undergo stability testing to ensure they remain safe over time, and our products are tested by two German government laboratories before reaching our customers.
Because our products meet these standards, A Natural Difference has been able to distribute skincare internationally, including throughout Europe and Australia.
